Learning Outcomes
I will be focusing on aspects of narrative, analysis and visualization in the Emma B. Andrews Diary Project, a digital humanities research and internship program based in the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilization. I will be working with unpublished primary source data related to 19th century Nile travel, which has been encoded in XML/TEI to make it machine readable.
The goal is to analyze these documents to develop an understanding of the social, archaeological, economic, political and religious networks of the time, and to create narratives and visualizations to display the research results online.
